Nasser al-Khelaifi makes telling admission amidst surging ‘Messi to Inter Miami’ rumors

Lionel Messi’s future at the Parc des Princes has been discussed by PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi in light of rumors that he may soon sign with David Beckham’s Inter Miami team.

Nasser al-Khelaifi revealed that he is in talks with Messi about his future at PSG.

The Argentine superstar, who joined the Parc des Princes on a free transfer from Barcelona in 2021, is currently in the penultimate year of his contract.

Due to his incredible performance this season, they had been eager to keep him in the French capital, but their chances of doing so are now in jeopardy.

The 35-year-old Argentina great has previously stated that playing in the MLS would be a “dream” and that he would be interested in making such a move.

Meanwhile, Barcelona has repeatedly expressed interest in bringing him back to the Camp Nou in the near future.

In the interim, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has been linked to David Beckham’s MLS team, Inter Miami.

Al-Khelaifi has acknowledged that talks on a new contract are still going on between PSG and Messi’s representatives, but he is not yet sure what will happen.

He stated, as reported by The Times, “We are speaking to him. We’ll wait and see what transpires.”

Representatives for Messi have already commented on his prospective future and discussions about moving to Miami.

Despite claims to the contrary, Marcelo Mendez insisted to CNN that Messi was not in contact with the MLS team. “It’s untrue; it’s false information,” said Mendez. “Lionel is not under contract to join Inter Miami for the upcoming season.”

Messi has already indicated his delight with living in Paris; however, it is unclear what he will decide to do in the near future since the Argentine prefers to concentrate on his obligations at the World Cup in Qatar.

In remarks made earlier this year, he said: “I have grown to appreciate Paris much more. The first year saw a significant change.”

“Everything happened very quickly; leaving Barcelona was not my intention, and everything was very abrupt.

I am content to live where I do after this lengthy period and the challenging circumstances, and my family and I are loving Paris.”

This season, Messi has made 19 appearances for PSG, contributing 12 goals and 14 assists.

He carried that form into the World Cup, scoring twice for Argentina during the group stage to secure a meeting with Australia in the round of 16.
