Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang makes major Chelsea transfer decision amidst various clubs’ interest

Despite falling down the pecking order under Graham Potter, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang underwent a stunning change of heart about his future and decided to remain at Chelsea.

After being left off Chelsea’s Champions League roster, Aubameyang is aware that three major European clubs are interested in signing him ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 33-year-old veteran striker was reportedly close to signing with Los Angeles FC of Major League Soccer earlier this week, with sources stating he already had one foot outside the Stamford Bridge exit door.

He had previously been left out of Chelsea’s squad for the Champions League round of 16 in order to make room for some of the team’s January signings.

Aubameyang returned to the Premier League from Barcelona for £10 million, but he only managed to score three goals in the first half of the season.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Aubameyang prefers to battle for his position at Chelsea over moving to LAFC. The former Gabon international does not believe it is the proper moment to transfer to MLS, even if he is entering the latter stages of his career.

According to the article, Aubameyang’s decision was somewhat influenced by the knowledge that three European powerhouses were keeping an eye on him before the summer transfer season.

While Barça are considering a bid to re-sign their former player, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are also keeping an eye on the center-forward. Aubameyang is aware that doing well for Chelsea in the final stretch is the best way to guarantee he keeps playing at a top level.

Since Chelsea added Mykhaylo Mudryk, David Datro Fofana, and Joao Felix to their attack in January, this won’t be a simple task, but the fact that Aubameyang was left off the team for the Champions League should pave the way for further involvement in top-flight competition.

Since rejoining training on Monday, Aubameyang has impressed Potter with his attitude and his continued belief that he can contribute consistently to a great team.

The 37-year-old Luka Modric and the 35-year-old Karim Benzema of Real Madrid, who won the Champions League and La Liga double last season, serve as an inspiration to Aubameyang.

The striker, who was representing Barcelona at the time, scored 13 goals in 23 games for the Catalans, demonstrating his continued strength in front of goal.
